Procedure for Informing Depositors
This page briefly explains what information banks/MFIs/HCSCs must provide to depositors under the deposit protection system.
1) What is a bank/organization required to do?
It is recommended to place the following information in visible areas for depositors:
- information on participation in the deposit protection system;
- a copy of the participant certificate;
- a brief explanation of the compensation amount and procedure;
- Agency contact details (address, website, e-mail, phone numbers).
2) What should a depositor know?
Key points:
- compensation is paid in the event of an insured event;
- compensation, including accrued interest, does not exceed KGS 1,000,000;
- if deposits are held with multiple participating institutions, compensation is paid separately for each institution;
- up-to-date information is published on the Agency’s official website and communication channels.
3) Practical example
In previous years, insured events occurred where depositors of certain banks received compensation.
Payments were made both through the Agency’s cash desk and through agent banks.
This section demonstrates that the system operates in practice.
